The United States is one of those places you grow up seeing on movies – because this is what America does best – showbiz. That said; when you get the opportunity to see it live – it does have many facets to it and because you would have seen some of the places in a movie – walking some of the streets truly feels like you are part of the cast. From catching a cab in the streets of Manhattan – walking the streets of Soho to Greenwich and then slipping into the central part to sneak peak the boathouse for lunch ; all of this is what the showbiz hype has done. Is what you see in the big screen, truly America ? What can you expect when travelling to the US of A:
To be honest, when travelling down to the States, the biggest thing for me personally has been safety first. This remains a topic even in 2023. That said, to answer the question of if the hype that showbiz has created is true- the answer is yes and no. Yes, for example New York and Los Angelos are dreamy yet also ravished by other outrageous sides, which is why it was relieving for me to be able to see more of this country and discover areas which are not so hyped or niche depending on your style of travelling – which are full of hidden treasures. This makes America a very dynamic place which so many things to offer. After doing the West to East coast trip, could see why so many people might have never gotten out of the States.

UNIQUE THINGS TO DO WHEN TRAVELLING USA
Flight Cruises – To Appreciate the US landscape , one needs to have seen the aerial view, highly recommend to do this on one of your trips. It gives a completely different feel of the same place – take the Grand Canyon for example – this amazing place looks so different depending on which angle you visit it and also where the sun rays are hitting the rocks.
Food experiments – So far New York and Chicago, have been the best foodies haven for me.Carlifornia is also in the top three, as they have so much diversity – it took New York City to be in a seventh heaven food coma for me – these three are sizzling pots of culture with offerings of food fusions from all over the world. However as I come from a land of “braai” ( bbq) – Houston and Charlotte found their way in this food experiments featuring some places that you can go all out on your food exploration for various genres.
Great American Roadtrip – If you have been gifted with time then with the diversity in the USA Landscape , you are bound to have a good time if you include some fun stops for a road-trip vs. taking inland flights. US offers a lot of quirks to this experience. One of these stops is the Prada Marfa it’s an art installation located along US Highway 90, just over 20 miles northwest of artsy Marfa. Apparently , these Prada items behind the glass-walled storefront are real. There is also the ghost town Bodie if you are driving through Carlifornia.
Best experience – there is a reason you hear of many national parks incidents – the USA has some of the most amazing diverse national parks that are unreal. (Featuring The Grand Canyon: This was to date the best experience in USA for me perosnally. It changed my view of America as this place with New York and California as the top destination. Even though I have to say , California vibes were the best ever followed by Chicago. All in all, have to add that Las Vegas also lived up to its name. If you are looking for a place full of fun whether its solo, couples treat or family trip – Las Vegas gives the fun night. (New York) This Italian spot rustic , cozy can have you waiting for hours and needing to book in advance because it is one of the bests spot for some good food.

( New York again ) A friend introduced me to high tea and no it was not in London. All we know is since then, never turned back. This spot is one to try.

( San Diego ) La Jolla has so many places this list doesn't do justice. However when in search for ice cream during a stroll, do stop by here. Stayed just across when I visited.

Siena Tavern
( Chicago ) again this city is a buzz for the foodie, with also great authentic Ramen places. Went here for a quick lunch and it didn't disapoint.
